The role of our Board of Directors is to be active participants in promoting the revitalization of Peace Dale village as stated in our mission. Each of our Board members brings a unique experience to the Board, helping us to continue to achieve our goals.
Leslie Chouinard, President
Leslie is an educator and an active participant in local politics. Her experience helps us to navigate the town's political system and work cooperatively with our town officials. Leslie is also the Chairperson of our Historic Resource Commission, which works to protect this historic village. She has been a resident of Peace Dale for 37 years.
Karen Zyons, Secretary
Karen was a founding member of the Peace Dale Neighborhood Revitalization movement fourteen years ago. She has owned and operated several of her own businesses and has been a Special Events Planner for large corporations. Karen also chairs our Organizational Development sub-committee. She & her family have lived in Peace Dale for over 20 years.
Nancy Dean
Nancy is an original founding member of the Peace Dale Revitalization movement as well. Nancy is an accomplished artist working in metals. Some of her works can be seen in the Peace Dale Art Park. Nancy also heads our Public Arts Project sub-committee which has been very instrumental in bringing the visual work of local artists into our community.
Andy Nota
Andy is our liaison with the Town of South Kingstown. He is South Kingstown's Director of Administrative Services, working directly with the Town Manager. Andy provides supportive services to us and is our troubleshooter if problems arise as we work to carry out our mission.
Jane Sherman
Jane is our newest Board Member.
She holds a top managerial position in M&T Manufacturing located in Peace Dale. Jane is the chairwoman of our Housing Initiative sub-committee promoting affordable housing within Peace Dale. Jane and her family are residents of one of our local housing complexes and she is a Board Member of the South Kingstown Housing Authority's Tenants Association Known as C.U.R.B..
She is a town-appointed member of the South Kingstown Housing Authority Board of Commissioners . Jane also works to erase the stigma of public housing through her community events.
Bob DonFrancesco Treasurer
Bob is a native Rhode Islander and has been a member of PDNRI for four years.
Through his property development and property management business, Peacedale Partners, LLC, Bob renovated a Peace Dale village commercial-residential building, rekindling its true Colonial Revival architectural history. This renovation attracted a new small business, DiVozzi Italian Bakery, to the village. Reconstruction of a second building in the area provided the Jonnycake Food Pantry with a new larger facility to better serve their ever growing clientele base. Bob has also been instrumental in attracting seven additional small businesses to the area, including the Education Exchange. The Education Exchange is the leader in connecting individuals, families, and businesses in the Rhode Island Community to educational services that improve lives and achieve workforce goals.
